Lots of Play in Fort York

Lots of Play in Fort York took place at West Block, 500 Lake Shore Blvd W (Lake Shore and Bathurst).
Programming was free and open to anyone with a creative spark! Many attendees signed up for select classes in advance to guarantee their spot, while drop-ins joined if space was available.

Programs

  • Garden Box Decorations – Attendees created artwork to decorate garden boxes or potted plants with Azadeh Pirazimian
  • Art Workshop – Participants took part in a creative workshop with Kseniya Tsoy
  • Community Dreaming Installation – Guests added wishes to the fence
  • Button Making Station – Attendees created their own buttons
  • Colouring Station – Guests coloured community-themed pages
  • Paint and Embellish Your Own T-shirt – Attendees made custom tees with Nicholas Ridiculous
  • Zumba – Participants joined a cardio-based dance class with Glo Romy
  • Beatboxing Workshop – Guests learned to make unique sounds, melodies, and beats with Mason Borges
  • Hip Hop Dance Class – Attendees participated in an energetic hip hop dance class with Glo Romy
  • Drumming Workshop – Participants explored drumming with Beny Esguerra, followed by a performance
  • Ukulele Workshop – Guests learned ukulele fundamentals with Vicky Wang, followed by a performance
  • Wake Up and DANCE – Attendees joined a hip hop-inspired dance workshop with Glo Romy
  • Step Dance Workshop – Guests learned basic stepping techniques with Chanel Auld
  • Percussion Workshop – Participants explored steel pan orchestra rhythms with Aldene Herman of Impulse Steel Orchestra, followed by a performance
